Frequently asked questions

How much does the service cost?

The price depends on which of our services you choose:

  • Delivered in to the UK, a single sided petbadge costs £9.95 and a double sided petbadge costs £12.95. You have access to update your pet profile ID for a month from the date of purchase. If you are outside of the UK, there will be an additional shipping charge.
  • Alternatively you can become a member for 12 months. This costs £19.95 and includes your badge. You can update your pet profile ID at any time and have access to the full range of mypetbadge services and features.
  • If you want to upgrade your membership after just purchasing a badge to access our full range of services, you can do so for £9.00 for 12 months.

Do I need an internet connection to access the scan data on the badge?

You do need an internet connection to access the data. In many cases though, your QR reader provider will save the data for access when you are next online.

Can this service be used as a passport alternative for my pet?

Petbadges are not an alternative to pet passports. Although the data can be accessed via the QR code from anywhere in the world, please ensure you have the relevant legal documentation when travelling.

What are the badges made from?

Our Petbadges are metal and the QR code is etched into them. They are made to be robust and carry no risk to your pet should they manage to lick or chew them. If your pet should eat their Petbadge you should consult a vet.

What sizes are the badge?

Petbadges are different sizes as we understand that a kitten needs a very different size badge to a Great Dane! If you visit the Build Your Badge section of the site, all the information you need is there.

What colours are available?

There are eight different colour petbadges to choose from. The Build Your Badge section of the site contains the details of these colours. From subtle silver to striking pink, there’s something for every pet!

What are Profiles?

There are two types of profile.

  • Firstly we need a profile for you. This is where we keep your details and link them to your pet. So, if your pet does get lost, it can be identified and we can get in touch with you. We also need to know where to post your badge. We don’t share this information on the website.
  • Secondly your pet needs a profile. This is where you can upload information about your pet and add photos if you want to. These can be viewed on our website by other visitors. We love pictures of your animals looking cute.

What is the Forum?

The Forum is where you can share and read information about pets, pet care, breeds and everything else pet related. There is plenty of scope for what might be discussed – let us know your opinions!

How do I provide feedback for the service or suggestions ways to improve it?

We love to hear what you think! Email us on info@mypetbadge.com and we’ll see what we can do.
